I'm literally BEHIND!

So....Parker's new thing to say is "boody boody" and he laughs hysterically often grabbing his at the same time. I don't know who taught him this. It is very bizarre. I don't laugh...but I do find it funny. We tell him not to say it. He still does. He references it correctly - "I don't want to sit on my boody, boody." "Boody, Boody" as he points at the tv shot of someone bending over. "Boody, boody!" as he pats mine while trying to get my attention. Sigh....boys.

Today was my boy's first day of preschool. Some of the mom's here are trading off weeks as teachers. Two hours on Monday and Wednesday and then the kids see each other on Friday at church. Sounds like a normal school week to me! I took the first week as I have kind of come up with the curriculum to demonstrate. Parker has some issues I am trying to figure out. He is anti-social with kids his own age, he has mega melt downs, he won't potty train, he is possessive and he is easily overstimulated. To be honest, David and I are worried that he might have a bit of autism. He has always been very particular about things. It is difficult to differentiate between "spoiled" and "issues" with him. Afterall, he was the lucky child who got to be partially raised at his grandma's house 4 days a week when he was 1-2. And he's my youngest. And he is unbelievably cute. All conducive to "spoiled" behavior....and yet....I'm still worried about him. SO - we spent a lot of time this past week building up "school" and learning and getting him excited. Then these last 2 days I explained that some friends would be coming over and his special job would be to invite them in by saying "Come in please!" and then showing them to the coloring pages and giving them a crayon. FREEZE. One of Parker's big issues is that since leaving Texas he is very possessive of his belongings and is constantly worried they will disappear or go away...and he can be quite violent about it with kids his age. Big worries here. I was expecting him to refuse to share. He rushed to the door when the bell rang. He said "Come into my house please we have school." and he showed them all in. He referred to them as his friends and didn't have too many meltdowns. Three. I was expecting 20. At least. He raised his hands, he was eager to answer questions and he followed instructions. He bit into his own apple...not a Parker thing to do...it has skin afterall! And ate his snack like an alligator. They all did. He told his friends all goodbye when they left. This is going to be a good thing. He had a great first day of school!

Except....

When we were playing ring around the rosies, he would fall down, spring back up and either smack my bum or my bosom as he said "get up! Get off your boody, boody! Let's do it again!" I was crimson red...it wasn't even light pats. He was so excited to play with friends. Now my boody, boody isn't limited to just my behind...but my booby, boobies as well. Sigh.

Way too funny! I'm glad he had a first day of preschool. Today I bought not one but TWO overpriced books from Borders: Parenting the Strong-Willed Child and Setting Limits With Your Strong-Willed Child. I'll let you know how it goes. BTW... no Ephraim's Child in Oman (imagine that?)

Ephraim's Child is LDS based...you won't find it in Oman. You'll have to order it. Find out if one of the embassy people will let you have it shipped to them. Usually, Myron is cool with that. Just make sure to keep it to the one book.
