Soles 4 Souls was a relatively small venture at the time...but with the tragedy in Haiti they have spread their wings and forged an aggressive and strong partnership with a company called Recessionista.
If you've donated, but still feel like there is something more you can do...this is one amazing way of doing it. I've worked with this group and I am so excited. When I see things like this it is so encouraging on so many levels. Sometimes you wonder if the small things like shoe collections really make a difference...and then you see that clearly it does!
"The official partnership of Recessionista and Soles 4 Souls has launched. Together with Ken Paves, Jessica Simpson and Cacee Cobbs, Recessionista has committed to raise 50,000 shoes in 50 days for the victims in Haiti. ( www.50000shoes.com )
Recessionista is a company that offers brand name shoes, handbags and accessories at a fraction of retail. They sell their products online, through at home parties, and are an authorized shoe dealer on Amazon. For the next 50 days, they will offer their lowest prices and for each shoe sold, they will match it with a donation to soles 4 souls up to 10,000 shoes. In addition, they will donate 20% of their non-shoe profits to the organization.

Soles 4 Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 5.5 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently donating one pair every 9 seconds.) The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States. Soles4Souls has been featured in Runner's World, Ladies’ Home Journal, National Geographic’s Green Guide, and The New York Times. It has appeared on CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, BBC, CNN and thousands of regional news outlets across North America. Soles4Souls is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS and donating parties are eligible for tax advantages. Anyone can join our cause, and we need your help."
