pisa pizza
This is from our Pisa stop. We got some pizza while we were there. Also some gelato. We got to tour the cathedral and there were lots of beautiful frescos. I felt a little weird about taking pictures inside a church, but they said it was ok. They didn't come out so great, but at least I got something. Parker was just enthralled by the Tower. He kept asking us to go back and see it. As we were leaving we were accosted by an african man trying to force us to buy some african plastic jewelry...David would have lost that battle if I hadn't put my foot down and said "we aren't in Africa...and that is plastic. We don't want any!" On the way out you of course walk past all of the obligatory tourist traps. Parker wanted a miniature tower so bad. It was adorable the way he clutched it to his chest. We got on the bus and he was showing everyone his tower of ____, but he had his pacifier in his mouth and it sounded like he was saying Pisa. But not quite...so I finally took it out and discovered he was calling it the Tower of Jesus. Understandable since we had gone through the cathedral. So I tried correcting him. So, he screamed no! Tower of Jesus! It was so loud...I was so embarrassed and turning around to apologize I found that most of the people were giggling. Parker could not be convinced it was anything other than Jesus' Tower. After that every tower was the tower of Jesus to him. Even the Eiffel Tower. I guess he is only 2...so it is ok to mix such things up;) Sadly, Parker's personal tower of Jesus was left on the cruise ship and didn't make it home with us.
