blackout

At the roundabout near the Chedi it can get crazy. On one of the roads that feeds into it there are three lanes. The far right should be taken to turn right and go onto the road towards the ghubrah roundabout. The middle lane should be taken to merge into the outside lane of circle. And the inside lane should likewise, be used to merge into the inside lane of the circle. Makes sense, right?

Not if you are a female Omani, driving at night with a full face covering on. That's right. Not even a little slit.

This woman took the middle lane, pushed her way out into traffic and nearly killed me as she decided to merge into the inside lane instead of the outside lane of the circle.

I wanted to rip her little headcovering off her head and tell her to get a brain. Aren't there laws against driving like that?

Two words that do not seem to belong in any sentance here in Oman: driving and laws.

That's brutal and I'm at a loss for words.

If brains were a commodity, we would've already bought one for your brother...maybe even 2 of your brothers...
I guess people are free to be stupid no matter where they live, eh?
I'm glad you're OK!

It seems like the drivers just get worse and worse.

What kills me is they have to hire a driving trainer, they fail more than a few handful of times and then they finally get their licenses.

2nd thing that makes me nuts are parking lots here. Is it that flipping hard to pull in between two lines? Sheesh.
