There are things in life that make me want to puke, scream, cry and laugh all at once.
This is one of those times:
Lady1: (cooing at her baby) aren't you so pwecious? You are the smartest baby in the world!
Lady2: (watching lady1 and then leaning into her own baby) You are the smartest baby in the world! Aren't you my lovey dovey?
Lady1: (eyes cut over to lady2 with annoyance) You know, the other day he did such and such [insert some cute baby thing here]
lady2: Really? Well, the other day my baby did [insert some other cute baby thing here]
and the conversation continues, etc, etc, etc....challengingly and boastfully.
In such circumstances I don't respond or compete I just think to myself I bet their kids can't do these things and picture them in my mind:
body contortion in the car
knock over a beautiful christmas tree like professional lumberjacks
put more pasta in their mouth than an adult could
Rock out the crazy hair like a rockstar
and drink a bottle using no hands
I have amazing children! Happy Mother's day to me!
