I admit it...I am doing anything BUT what I need to be doing right now which is going through my closet. Oh, my beautiful closet! I will miss it! Granted that it is full of junk right now, but I may never have another walk-in closet with such a homey feel ever again. It was my first walk-in closet EVER. And right beside it was my first jacuzzi/spa/garden tub EVER. Everything I ever wanted in a bathroom/closet combo and I will be leaving it soon. I didn't take enough advantage of it.
Oh and all of those clothes in there that MUST be thrown away. Because lets face it...it has been 2 years since I gave birth to Parker and if I haven't lost the weight yet, I never will. This is about to get painful...
And I keep reading everyone else's blogs and wasting time...but I can't face it - I can't face my closet. I am about to destroy my little kingdom and I am not prepared to mentally handle the carnage of getting rid of certain items that once fit perfectly...or shoes that fit BEFORE the first child and the second set of shoes that didn't fit after the second child either! Oh, I had some beautiful shoes...shoes...my dear shoes...shoes that took me from a mere 5'3" to 5'6"+ and that is a big deal when your husband is 6'5" flat footed.
Well, I must now go and murder my dreams of ever being able to fit back into any of these items...wish me luck!

Amber! Just linked up to you through Other Oman.
Wow - you'll be moving to Oman - such a beautiful place to live and you guys are coming at the *almost* perfect time - Winter's just around the corner and it's amazingly beautiful here.
All the best to you and your family! :)
Thanks L for your well wishes. I have 11 more days and we will be there.
I am a little on the crazy side at this juncture...but I think that will all go away once we arrive in Muscat.
Safe travels Amber, can't wait to read a few posts about your initial impressions.
Hey Amber,
I would like to welcome you to Oman .. I think you will have a great time here.. there is so much to do !
The kids will have fun too :-)
I feel your pain. I wanted to do anything but go through my stuff and pack. Luckily, I am upgrading and getting a bigger walk-in closet and my first BIG tub.
We are hopefully closing on our new house this week. Then Derrick will have his own office again :)
If it makes you feel any better, I have a large walk in closet and a huge bathtub. 2 of the rare nice things about our flat.
I'm sure you'll find a great place with the same.
Is someone finding a flat for you or does David's company have company housing? *being a bit nosey*
Don't worry about the stuff, it's just stuff. Give it to good will and someone else can have some great memories, maybe take pictures and tape them to the inside of your new closet :)
sub - thanks! I will probably make some interesting observations...stay tuned!
omany - definitely plan on doing lots of stuff.
angry - I can get a little dramatic. My husbands company is going to be paying for a villa. What I have found though is that the price is different for me (expat) than a local. Even though it is not our money, my husband is frugal and will shop around/compare and it will take a long time for him to decide. He hates wasting money - anyones. In the meantime I will be living it up in a hotel - so I can't really complain.
oh, and you can't be too nosey. I'm pretty open.
Hi Amber. I am a 'friend' of your Mum's. My son Noah has hydran and I found Dru via the hydran group. We are also LDS and live in Tasmania, Australia - she may have mentioned us - actually I'm sure she would have!! ;) LOL
She sent me the link to your blog. Hope you don't mind me checking it out. Your kids are so cute. We also have a blog if you are interested.
The Kings- drop by anytime! The door is always open.
